The old Nebraska Clothing Store at 14th and Farnam streets, Omaha, originally owned and displayed this set of presidential dolls. Made in Germany in the 1930s, the collection began with George Washington and ended with Franklin Roosevelt and the advent of World War II. The store used them for promotional purposes, especially during patriotic holidays.
To really show the intricate details of the clothes the presidents were wearing I decided to create a concept for the exhibit that featured them in a glass box with views from all around. On the glass, details about the wardrobe would be displayed.
The exhibit would also have a graphic-based introduction wall that explains the history and importance of these presidential dolls.
Concept showing a portion of how the exhibit would look in a 3D space.
